So I am playing Yume Miru Kusuri, and it is my first eroge (short for “erotic game” in typical Japanese portmanteau). I mentioned it before, though not by name, when I was musing over the oddly divergent attitudes US and Japanese fans have towards the socially unacceptable elements of anime culture.

Welcome to the first Frakoma podcast. It’s just me, Mrs Rocket, and the dregs of a bottle of 2005 Muscato Giallo from Bonny Doon – the Scotch comes later. Anyhow here we are in the first panel, no thats not the actual typeface of the store, oh and hat tip to Daniel for showing me how to do an easy rounded rectangle in Photoshop. Bit of trivia here, that is our Dualit used as a prop… too bad I had to draw her from memory. Ok panel two, I should mention cran-presso quiche is not such a good recipe, but I do love to get the pumpkin breads and hot cider they give out around Christmas, that’s probably why I drew the quiche in little paper cups. Panel three, you’ll note that I’m using the same manic shooting posture as I did for mad Athena a few episodes back. That’s called humor. We work hard at that. Panel four, actually there was a whole subplot here in the original drafts where Yul Brynner’s face would get burned off and he’d be that robot from Westworld and you know that’s be funny because he would actually be a humanoid killer robot like the Cylons. Unfortunately we ran out of time and it had to be cut, which kinda makes the whole Yul Brynner thing a non-sequitor, but maybe on the extended 5 panel DVD release we’ll get to see the story as it was originally envisioned. Ok, well that’s it, another podcast done, another bottle saved from evaporation, and now it’s time to go home. Until next time!
